“Sometimes what changes our lives is not a big breakthrough, but a small daily practice.”
For years, I have been fascinated by a simple question:
Why do some people continue to grow through life’s challenges, while others feel stuck despite reading all the right books and knowing exactly what they should do?
As a coach, meditation practitioner, yoga teacher, project manager, and podcast host, I have had the privilege of speaking with hundreds of people from different walks of life. Their stories were different, but many of their struggles felt surprisingly similar.
They were busy.
Successful.
Responsible.
Capable.
And yet beneath the surface, many felt disconnected from themselves. They knew how to manage projects, deadlines, teams, and family responsibilities. But they rarely created space to pause and ask:
How am I really feeling?
What do I need right now?
Am I living according to what truly matters to me?
These conversations reflected something I had experienced myself. There was a period in my own life when I was constantly doing, achieving, and striving, but slowly losing connection with the deeper parts of myself. The problem was never a lack of information.
The problem was a lack of space.
Space to listen.
Space to feel.
Space to reflect.
Space to remember who we are underneath all the roles we play.
The Power of Small Daily Reflections
Over the years, I explored many approaches to personal growth, including mindfulness, coaching, positive psychology, meditation, and traditional chinese wisdom traditions. What I discovered was surprisingly simple. Transformation rarely happens through one life-changing insight. More often, it happens through small moments of awareness repeated over time.
A few minutes of reflection.
A question that makes us pause.
A thought that deserves to be written down.
A feeling that is finally acknowledged.
Tiny moments may seem insignificant, but over weeks and months, they create meaningful shifts in how we see ourselves and how we live.
The Journey of Seeing, Accepting, and Rebuilding
This realization inspired me to create the 81-Day Practice Journal.
The journal is built around three stages of inner growth:
Before we can change anything, we need to see clearly. To notice our thoughts, emotions, habits, strengths, and patterns without immediately trying to fix them. Awareness is where every meaningful transformation begins.
Once we see clearly, we can begin to meet our experience with compassion. Acceptance does not mean giving up. It means creating enough inner space to acknowledge reality without judgment. Only then can wise action emerge.
Growth is not only about understanding ourselves. It is also about creating a life that reflects our values. One decision. One habit. One conversation. One day at a time.
Why 81 Days?
In Chinese culture, the number eighty-one often symbolizes a meaningful journey of growth, perseverance, and transformation. Personal development is rarely a straight path. There are moments of clarity and moments of doubt. Moments of joy and moments of challenge.
The journal was designed to accompany people through this journey, not to provide perfect answers, but to offer consistent support.
A Companion, Not Another Task
When designing the journal, I had one important intention:
I did not want it to become another thing on your to-do list.
There is already enough pressure in modern life. Instead, I wanted to create something that feels more like a companion. A place where you can slow down. Reconnect with yourself. Celebrate small wins. Explore difficult emotions. And gradually build a deeper relationship with your own inner wisdom.
An Invitation
Today, I am excited to share this journal with the world. Not because I believe it is the solution to everything. But because I believe in the power of consistent reflection. I believe that when we learn to see ourselves clearly, accept ourselves kindly, and act with intention, we create the foundation for a more meaningful life. If this journal helps even one person feel a little more grounded, a little more present, and a little more connected to themselves, then it has fulfilled its purpose. The journey begins with a single page. And perhaps today is the perfect day to write the first one.
